Ski zone Mechi Chal
Established as the inaugural climatotherapy center in 1937, Chepelare stands today as a charming resort town often referred to as the "green heart of Bulgaria." Merely 1 km south of the town lies the prominent sports hub, Mechi Chal, situated at an elevation of 1155 m and nestled at the base of Mechi Chal peak (1873 m above sea level), marking the starting point of the ski area's slopes.
Within this locale lies one of Bulgaria's lengthiest slopes for alpine disciplines - the Mechi Chal 1 advanced slope, spanning 3,000 meters. Equipped with all requisite features, this slope is aptly suited to host elite-level competitions of international acclaim.
