Ski Zone Pamporovo
In 2016, Bulgaria witnessed the historic collaboration of two neighboring ski resorts, Pamporovo and Mechi Chal, which joined forces to operate jointly under a unified ticketing and transportation system.
This strategic alliance seeks to establish the largest winter sports hub in the Balkans, leveraging the abundant natural resources available and positioning the country as a host for prestigious international sporting events.
Visitors to both resorts now benefit from a combined lift pass, granting access to all ski and snowboard slopes and amenities across Pamporovo and Mechi Chal.
Dedicated ski buses operate regularly between the two areas, ensuring seamless transportation for all tourists. Clearly marked stops and real-time schedule information enhance the efficiency of this service.
Both ski zones offer exceptional conditions for winter sports enthusiasts. With slopes ranging in difficulty from green to black, suitable for all age groups and skill levels, there's something for everyone—from novice to expert.
Pamporovo stands out as an ideal destination for beginners, boasting Bulgaria's longest green ski slope. Meanwhile, Mechi Chal presents a challenge for intermediate and advanced skiers, with its prominent red slope.
Situated in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains at an altitude of 1650 meters, Pamporovo Resort nestles at the base of Snezhanka Peak (1928 meters above sea level). Over the past 85 years, the resort has evolved into a renowned hub for sports and climatotherapy.
Spanning approximately 60 kilometers, the Pamporovo ski area encompasses ski slopes, snowboard runs, sledding areas, freeride zones, and cross-country trails. Its diverse range of slopes caters to individuals of varying ages and skill levels. The meticulously maintained facilities, including modern lift systems, state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment, and efficient grooming machines, ensure optimal snow conditions and a hassle-free experience for winter sports enthusiasts.
