“Movement is life” may be the common phrase, but here in the Pamporovo resort area, it’s more accurate to say “Movement is health.”
Thanks to its unique climate—with over 240 sunny days a year, especially between early July and late September—Pamporovo offers ideal conditions for physical and mental recovery. The air is rich in negative ions and phytoncides, humidity is low, and the altitude is just right: 1,500 meters in the center of the resort, 1,750 meters near the dam, and up to 1,926 meters at Mount Snezhanka. All of this creates the perfect environment to recharge, reset, and escape the stress of everyday life.
Nestled among centuries-old spruce and pine forests, Pamporovo is also ideal for practicing the increasingly popular “forest bathing.” This natural therapy helps reduce stress, boosts mental clarity, and supports the body’s own healing processes—whether you’re recovering from injury or just need to unwind from a hectic pace.
The Pamporovo area—particularly the mountain zones around Mount Snezhanka and the nearby reservoir—offers countless outdoor activities, including:
- Scenic hiking trails throughout the resort and surrounding areas
- Foraging for herbs, wild berries, and porcini mushrooms on the slopes or in nearby forest groves
- Trail running and orienteering along cross-country routes, which are also great for mountain biking
- Nordic walking on the mountain’s gentler slopes
- Archery at a dedicated range just behind the dam wall in the area known as “The Dam”
- A variety of outdoor games for families—badminton, frisbee, ball games, target practice, logic puzzles, and more

Access to the High-Mountain Area
During the summer season, visitors can reach the high-mountain zone using lifts No. 1 (Tourist Information Center) and No. 2 (Studenets to Snezhanka), which operate throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased at the lift station ticket counters.
Several ticket options are available, including passes for one, two, three, or four rides, as well as family packages. Family tickets are offered in combinations such as one adult with two children, two adults with one child, two adults with two children, and two adults with three children.
When buying your ticket, you’ll be asked to specify the direction of travel and the lift combination you plan to use. All tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.
