Pilgrimage to Krastova Gora – The Holy Forest of the Rhodopes

Immerse yourself in the spiritual power and silence of one of the most sacred places in Bulgaria – Krastova Gora, also known as the Holy Forest of the Rhodopes. We depart from the Tourist Information Center in Pamporovo with organized transport, heading deep into the heart of the Rhodope Mountains.

Nestled among the mysterious and majestic nature at the foot of Krastov Peak (1,413 m), lies the Christian complex Krastova Gora – a sacred site steeped in history, faith, and hope. According to legend, a fragment of the Holy Cross is buried here, turning the area into a magnetic destination for thousands of pilgrims each year.

During this spiritual journey, we will visit the “Holy Trinity” Monastery Complex, known for its humble atmosphere and its 12 chapels dedicated to the apostles. We will ascend to the Cross of Christ, placed at the summit, where the power of prayer is deeply felt and where, according to believers, the Lord Himself descends to meet the faithful.
