From 19 to 24 August, Pamporovo will host the DECATHLON Persenk Ultra Mountain Running Festival, one of the largest trail running festivals in Bulgaria. Over the course of five days, the resort will welcome thousands of runners, their families, and outdoor enthusiasts. The race programme features five spectacular courses – 20 km, 25 km Sky Race, 50 km, 80 km and 100 km – taking participants through some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Rhodope Mountains and offering challenges for both newcomers and experienced ultrarunners.
DECATHLON Persenk Ultra is much more than a sporting event – it is a true mountain festival. Alongside the races, visitors can enjoy an extensive programme including a conference, inspiring presentations, mountain film screenings, meet-and-greet sessions with renowned athletes, an outdoor expo, sports equipment testing, activities for children and families, evening entertainment, and countless opportunities to discover the beauty of the Rhodope Mountains. Combining sport, tourism, education and entertainment, the festival transforms Pamporovo into one of Bulgaria's premier destinations for an active summer holiday.
Throughout the five festival days, guests will experience not only the excitement of the races but also a vibrant atmosphere beyond the trails – a place where athletes, tourists and families come together to share unforgettable moments, new friendships and memorable experiences in the heart of the mountains.
Alongside the festival, Pamporovo JSC, in partnership with the Municipality of Chepelare and Teen Spirit Chepelare Association, will present Pamporovo Summer Fest, enriching the sports programme with a diverse cultural and entertainment schedule. Festival highlights include live performances by popular young Bulgarian artists Robi and Tino, a Red Hot Chilly Peppers Tribute concert, a performance by renowned bagpiper Stoyo Stoev, a DJ party featuring Ekonpale, Peril & Damyanov, daily children's workshops, the children's theatre productions "Happy Traffic Light" and "The Robber's Fairy Tale", the family theatre performance "Love Me", the drama "Provincial Stories", a charity volleyball tournament, and a Kite Day at Pamporovo Reservoir. Together, these events will offer an exciting programme for visitors of all ages, making Pamporovo the place where sport, culture and the mountains come together in one unforgettable summer festival.
