The “Black Peak” tour is a moderately challenging route that unveils scenic views and leads to some of the most beautiful corners of the Rhodope Mountains!
We begin our tour at the Tourist Information Centre in Pamporovo and head towards the Studenetz area. The path takes us through an ancient broadleaf forest, and the area, situated at an altitude of 1650 metres, serves as the starting point for several routes leading to various picturesque spots.
From here, we continue with chairlift No. 2, which will take us to the summit, where the iconic 156-metre Snow White Tower stands. The expansive meadow at the top is the perfect place for a short break and a picnic. On clear days, the panoramic terrace of the tower offers a breathtaking view of the endless green hills of the Rhodopes, and on the horizon, you can even catch a glimpse of the Aegean Sea.
Once we’ve soaked in the views from Snezhanka Peak, we begin our descent along a forest path that passes by Iglite Peak and leads us to the middle section of the Stoikite ski slope. Along a beautiful winding forest trail, we will reach our final destination – the Black Peak (1811 metres above sea level), which rises above the village of Stoikite.
There, we are greeted by one of the most impressive panoramas in the area – the majestic Perelik Peak, the mystical Orpheus Peak, as well as the picturesque villages of Gela and Stoikite. It’s time to rest, capture the moment, and enjoy the sense of complete harmony with nature.
The return journey follows an equally interesting route, passing through the cross-country ski trail, which takes us back to the Studenetz area and the Tourist Information Centre in Pamporovo.
*Please note that all hiking expeditions require a minimum group size of 4 people.
